Dr. Tutiven’s global health missions include the participation as a clinical member on the ORBIS flights to help save children's eyesight in underserved areas of Latin America. Her contribution included a full session of pediatric anesthesia lectures to anesthesiologists and residents of Trujillo Peru. Dr. Tutiven also participates with the Pediatric Retinal International Surgical Mission, a group formed early this year which comprised of sub-specialized BPEI physicians, nurses, and key staff to provide a safe assessment of babies possibly presenting visual defects due to ZIKAV in an underserved area of a Caribbean nation. Dr. Tutiven participated in providing a safe anesthetic and preoperative experience to those affected.
