About Laser Skin Resurfacing
Deeper wrinkles, skin laxity and discoloration are impossible to treat with average, over-the-counter skincare. At Inspire Aesthetics in Delray Beach, FL we offer deep laser skin resurfacing with the AcuPulse™ CO2 Laser to address deep wrinkles, scars, finer lines around the eyes and mouth, and discoloration. Our board-certified plastic surgeons use laser skin resurfacing on the face, neck, and hands for patients that qualify. The heat from this laser technology will focus layer-by-layer on eliminating the imperfections at each treatment session. At your treatment planning session with one of our trusted plastic surgeons, we will discuss how many sessions it will take to achieve your desired result. Other nonsurgical treatments may be recommended as laser skin resurfacing works well with other aesthetic treatments or as a compliment to a previous plastic surgery.

"My first experience with Inspire in Fort Lauderdale was AMAZING! The precautions they are taking in this new normal made me feel safe and at ease. Vanessa and Erika greeted me when I arrived and they were organized, courteous, and professional. Chris, the Nurse Practitioner, took his time and walked me through every step of the procedure, making sure to address any questions I had. His passion and attention to detail came through in my amazing results. Without a doubt, Inspire Fort Lauderdale is my new home for all my aesthetic needs!"- R.T. / Google / Jun 25, 2020
"As an RN for over 28years, you can bet I did my research before I felt comfortable even meeting Dr Goodwin and his staff at Inspire. After having multiple medical surgeries, I was in need of some serious repair. I had a major double-procedure performed by Dr Matthew Goodwin. I appreciated the honest approach to seeing what was possible regarding my body and what I wanted it to look like post-op. Dr. Goodwin never made me feel pressured to make a decision regarding my plan of surgical enhancement/correction. Kami became my go-to person for questions, worries, fears, and support...at all hours! At the start of my journey to surgery, I was shown before/after pictures, options, and realistic outcomes. The day of surgery was planned out step by step and was flawless. Anesthesia called me the night before to discuss his plan and my concerns. I was introduced to the surgical nurses and Dr Schnitt, who assisted. My husband was kept apprised of my progress thru-out the day. Recovery was painless...from what I can remember....lol. Dr Goodwin called me later that evening to check on me. Since my procedures were rather involved, my post-op visits stretched out over 2 months...but there was never any issues that weren't immediately addressed and resolved. Dr Goodwin has always provided a high level of care for me during each follow up. They have always answered the phone and scheduled me ASAP! I have returned to Inspire (over 1 1/2 years now) and still feel welcome. I can comfortably recommend Dr Goodwin and his team because not only did he do an amazing job with my procedure, his follow up care continues. The entire team is top notch and all deserve a great deal of credit for their work. They all made me feel very comfortable from start to finish. I look forward to continuing to work with Inspire in my future. Thanks! Carisa"- C.S. / Google / Jun 25, 2020

"Inspire Aesthetics Fort Lauderdale is absolutely amazing! I use to go to the Delray location, but this one is much closer to me. I went in for Botox and Juvederm with Chris and love my results. The staff made me feel comfortable and the office is so luxurious and extremely clean. Would highly recommend."- T.M. / Google / Jun 22, 2020
What to Expect with Laser Skin Resurfacing
During laser skin resurfacing, the doctor will aim brief, pulsating beams of light with the AcuPulse Laser to the damaged skin. The AcuPulse Laser will ultimately destroy the unwanted skin layer by layer. The depth depends on the patient’s particular condition and needs. The laser beam removes the outer layer of skin, which is known as the epidermis. At the same time, the laser is heating the dermis, the layer underneath, which stimulates the growth of collagen. Once the damaged layers of skin are destroyed, it will begin to crust, flake, and peel away over the course of several weeks. Once this process is complete, new skin will appear in its place that’s healthier, brighter, younger looking, and more even-toned.
Laser Skin Resurfacing Other Considerations
Even though laser skin resurfacing is nonsurgical and is considered noninvasive, there generally is some downtime associated with the procedure depending on the level of aggression. To ease any discomfort during treatment, our practitioner may choose to numb the skin using a local anesthetic. A sedative can also be given to relax the patient. If the whole face is being treated or if other procedures are being done in conjunction with resurfacing, a local anesthesia will be given. The doctor will place the laser in the treatment area for a short amount of time and repeats this process until all of the damaged skin has been treated. After the ablative procedure, the treated skin will appear swollen, itchy and raw. It’s possible for these areas to discharge a yellowish liquid. A doctor will apply a thick, protective ointment and cover the area with an airtight, watertight dressing to protect the treated skin. During recovery, the treated area will need to be kept clean and protected. Crusting can also occur, so the patient must refrain from picking since this can lead to permanent scarring. The new skin is usually generated in about 1 – 2 weeks. With non-ablation, a patient can expect swelling and redness which can be remedied with ice packs.
